The Digital Conference System Recommended by the G20 Summit!

Project Overview:

“Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability.” The 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit, hereinafter referred to as the “G20 Summit,” was held in November 2025 in South Africa. A total of 42 countries and regional organizations confirmed their participation. Thousands of international delegates, media representatives, and visitors gathered at the venue.

As one of the world’s highest-level economic cooperation forums, the G20 Summit sets extremely strict requirements for the conference system deployed on site, including speech discussion, simultaneous interpretation, camera tracking, and customizable background displays.

VISSONIC successfully secured this project and provided products and technical support for the G20 Summit. The detailed report is as follows.

Project Background:

“I am not indecisive; I simply want every option to be perfect!” said the VISSONIC project manager.

For this G20 Summit, VISSONIC provided a transmission protocol and devices designed for high-frequency meetings with zero failures, ensuring the summit’s smooth operation.

The summit faced nearly one hundred media teams, almost one hundred cameras, numerous wireless channels, and overlapping broadcast signals, creating an extremely complex environment. To achieve zero equipment failure, VISSONIC needed to ensure stability at the physical transmission layer.

This project confronted four demanding challenges:

A. Deployment for Stable Speaking B. Simultaneous Interpretation C. Camera Tracking D. Speech Information Display

Product Solution:

Based on on-site conditions and field assessments, we conducted simulations and analysis to provide the most appropriate solution. Only three additional devices were required for the summit—VIS-MAW-T / VIS-DCP2000-W / VIS-INT64-P—to fully meet all conference needs.

1. Stable Speaking

The VIS-MAW-T (Conference Unit) supports both Wi-Fi wireless mode and network daisy-chain mode.

For this G20 Summit, the network daisy-chain method was selected. In this configuration, if any single cable is disconnected, other conference units remain unaffected.

After the summit, if renovation or adaptation is needed, the wireless Wi-Fi mode can be used to reduce cable layout and maintain a cleaner conference room environment.

2. Simultaneous Interpretation

The VIS-INT64-P (Interpreter Desk) paired with VIS-MAW-T (Conference Unit) forms a digital conference interpretation system.

On-site displays provided channel guidance, and the conference units also presented corresponding language prompts.

Delegates could select their required channel and listen through headphones to the interpreted language or minority languages processed by the VIS-INT64-P.

Unlike infrared-based systems, this solution ensures smooth, clear, uninterrupted interpretation audio.

3. Camera Tracking

The combination of VIS-DCP2000-W and VIS-MAW-T enables camera tracking.

Camera presets are triggered through the conference unit’s speaking button.

This method avoids the focus inaccuracy problems caused by motion-detection tracking and is widely recognized as the most reliable triggering approach in the industry.

4. Speech Visualization

The VIS-MAW-T includes a built-in speech visualization list.

During meetings, it displays detailed information about the current speaker such as nationality, position, name, avatar, and other custom information.

This is especially beneficial for large meetings or when speaking with attendees whose information is unfamiliar.

Additional functions used at the summit included the conference unit’s built-in three-band speaker, customizable unit backgrounds, EQ tuning, and more.

Project Summary:

The successful deployment at the G20 Summit adds another significant milestone to VISSONIC’s global project portfolio.
